May We Dance

May we dance with a hope
Lighter than our burden
Of wisdom. Even as the world
Rocks and rolls unsteadily.
May we dance. Hopeful.
Rageful fuel driving our feet
Faster than the fatigue of faith.
May we dance with desperate
Compassion, our outraged tears
A balm for the bruised hearts
In the line of fire.
May we dance with an eye
Towards the crack of light
That softens the darkness just enough
For us to see each other’s
Outreached hand of courage.
